Feb. 4-5, 2012 Stamp Camp

Now I'm almost caught up with my postings. February is a great month for Stampin' Up because you have 3 catalogs to wish upon. There's still lots of wonderful items to wish for in the main Idea Book & Catalog, then the Occasions-Mini is good until April 24, and lastly it's Sale-a-Bration time until March 31! During SAB for every $50 you spend you get to choose an item from the SAB catalog for free!
Also during SAB Stampin' Up has lowered the price for the Starter Kit to $125 (that's a $50 savings! plus there's more free goodies each month for your first entire year!) It's a great time to be part of the Stampin' Up family!

Here's the designs we will make for February's Stamp Camp. These cards continue to use product from the new Occasions-Mini Catalog and the Sale-a-Bration catalog. So much cute product to play with I can't stop myself!

Here's my next attempt at a masculine birthday card using the Zoo Review set. Color scheme is Basic Black, Real Red, Basic Gray, and Striped DSP in light gray. There is black satin ribbon running through the two layers of the Label Collection Framelits.  I think it works!

A sweet Be My Valentine card using Soft Suede card base, topped with Crumb Cake and Melon Mambo layers. The stamp came from the Holiday Mini set called Festive & Fun. I handcolored with SU markers in a variety of pinks and red. Topped it off with the Melon Mambo striped ribbon and an antique brad.

This Hello card uses Baja Breeze card base, a layer of Sale-a-Bration DSP called Everyday Enchantment, Baja Breeze Pleated Ribbon, then a SAB set called Elementary Elegance where I heat embossed the image with the new Cherry Cobbler embossing powder, then I carefully punched out the window with the Curly Label punch. Finally I stamped Hello in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla and affixed it behind the window. Using the Corner Rounder, I finished the 4 card corners.

Unfortunately this card photo didn't turn out well. You'll have to believe me when I say it really is beautiful! The color scheme is Real Red dry embossed with the polka dot folder. Then a strip of dark gray DSP striped paper offset to the side. The scallop circle was embossed first with the Finial Press folder, then die cut with the Scallop Circle #2 die. Next comes the two circle punches 1-3/8" in Real Red, 1-1/4" with sentiment from You're A Gem set. Punch out large heart in red glimmer paper, and small heart in silver glimmer paper. Lastly thread the 1/8" Real Red taffeta ribbon through the clasp of the key trinket and affix to card front. Very lovey-dovey!

Jan. 16, 2012 Workshop Designs

I was so fortunate to have a good friend say she'd help me with booking a party during another one of SU World Wide Book-a-thons, so I earned some nice incentives. Who wouldn't want free stamps? That's just one of the benefits of being a demonstrator!

Here's the cards I designed for this workshop:

This Happy Everything Card uses a new stamp called Packed for Birthday. It was so fun to color with Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo after stamping with Black Stazon ink. I tried a new to me technique on this card. Heating crumpled wax paper between two layers of the shiny side of the Glossy White paper, then when it is cool just sponging whatever color ink you desire. It was soooo easy, I plan to use this technique again!

For the Newlyweds card is super easy to make. Use the Elegant  Bouquet Textured Inpressions Embossing Folder on Brushed Silver, wrap the 5/8" White Organza Ribbon around the silver paper, then add another ribbon layer on top of it with the 1/8" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon. Once that is secure adhere that silver/ribbon layer to a Whisper White card. Finish it off with 3 punches - Decorative Label in Basic Black, Scallop Oval in Brushed Silver, and Oval in Whisper White with Basic Black sentiment stamped. Finish with rhinestones as shown.

This Love card has many details that are hard to see in the photo. Starting with a Very Vanilla card, add Stripe Embossed Basic Black at top. Cut out Read Red base paper, then heat emboss "love" in Black embossing powder on Sale-a-bration Everyday Enchantment DSP. Punch two hearts in Real Red and Basic Black then emboss on the Big Shot with the Polka Dots folder. Finish by tying Very Vanilla Seam Binding at top, and color rhinestones with a red sharpie and affix to card front. Doesn't this just ooze love?

I'm so glad SU came out with this Gnome Sweet Gnome set. It reminds me of my Germany travels when I would see gnomes everywhere. This card uses the new Edgelits Die Cuts called Adorning Accents. Then I used two of the DSP designs of the Twitterpated paper on Island Indigo with Real Red accents. I hand colored the Gnomes with the watercolor pencils and finished it off with a punched out heart. Isn't this precious..."to gnome you is to love you"

It's almost time for the best time of the Stampin' Up year --Sale-A-Bration Catalog. Please contact me if you'd like to see one or go to this link!

January 7-8, 2012 Stamp Camp

Phew, where does the time go? I've been busy with school and not keeping up on my blog. So here goes with the updates.

The new Occasions-Mini Catalog is here through April 30, 2012. There are tons of new items to drool over. If you'd like to see a catalog please contact me or you can view the catalog online at this link

A Cheery Birthday Card using Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Basic Black and Flirtatious DSP for the butterfly. Topped off with Dazzling Details on the leaves, vines, and edge of the butterfly. Another trick was cutting the Lace Ribbon Border punch down the middle to stretch it behind my Whisper White strip.

The Cherish Card uses a lot of new products from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Twitterpated fabric, Blushing Bride Pleated Ribbon, Heart Framlits die cuts, and the Take It To Heart stamp set. Color scheme is Island Indigo, Real Red, Lucky Limeade, Blushing Bride, and Whisper White.  The flower I designed myself using the 1-3/4" scallop punch, then the Color Spritzer Tool with the Blushing Bride marker. I snipped the petals every two scallops and crunched the petals a little. There's two layers accented with 3 large pearls.

This is one of the two new Designer Cuts Card and Envelope Set card designs. I embellished with Real Red behind the heart, Blush Bride Smooch Spritz on top (spray from at least 4 feet away to get a fine mist), and a cute button and baker's twine. You can add any stamped sentiment you'd like.

This So Grateful card is one of my favorites. It uses the new Labels Collection Framelits die cuts, plus new DSP paper called Everyday Enchantment that you can only get through the Sale-a-Bration catalog. The new stamp set is called Apothecary Art which I hand colored with So Saffron and Calypso Coral. I embellished with the SAB Everyday Enchantment Brads, plus a die cut butterfly with pearl accent.
