Is it hot where you are? It's currently 92 degrees here in the Pacific Northwest! That is HOT! Yes, it got hotter at the end of June - up to 105 degrees, but it isn't usually that hot until this year! How can the Northwest be as HOT as the Southwest? I wish I knew!
That's why I chose sunny cards here this week! The weather forecaster made their prediction so I had to follow their forecast didn't I. Here's another fun card to make with the Sharing Sunshine set today! You might still need your sunglasses however! Mr. Sunshine isn't quite as bright as the first two cards I've shared this week, but he's still darling with his extra large fussy cut super-duper rays!
I was inspired by Hammond & Penny for the great sun rays idea, but the rest of the card is my design.
Why not give this card a shot? Check out these directions to recreate this card:
Start with Daffodil Delight card base 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
Pattern Party Designer Series Paper (DSP) 4" x 5-1/2"
Coastal Cabana 2-1/2" x 5-1/4" strip, embossed with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder
Using a 1/8" hole punch, punch two holes in the top of the banner, and with paper snips cut your own banner edge as shown in the photo.
8" piece of Coastal Cabana Ribbon comes from retired Play with Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack
Raise the Banner up with Dimensionals
Three scrappy pieces of Basic White - 1) for you own fussy cut cloud, then stamp the birthday wishes from the Garden Birdhouses stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, 2) to stamp the face of the sun, and 3) to stamp the stamped rays image
1-1/4" and 2" Circle Punches
Piece of Daffodil Delight cut with 2-5/8" Layering Circle Die, then fussy cut into rays only 1/2" deep so you still have something to adhere to the other rays.
Glue the layers of the sun together and glue to banner.
The Cloud uses mini dimensionals to adhere to the card base and banner.
Embellished with some iridescent sequins I had in my collection
I hope you have fun with this design.
