One of my customers, Leslie, shared with me a super cute Santa-style Gift Card Holder not too long ago. She shared the website she found the directions from 2012. I liked a lot of the design, but I wanted to change it up so the holder could also stand like a card and there would be a pocket for the gift card to sit in.
Start with a 4" x 11" piece of Real Red card stock. Score at 4-3/4" and 9-1/2" on the long side.
Fold up the Gift Card pocket and you will cut 1/2" tape to the middle score line on one side.
Fold Card closed and with paper snips, hand-cut the front to match.
Then repeat this process for the other side of the cup. The base of your cup will be 3" wide.
Put Tear and Tape on the gift card pocket. Peel and make a pocket.
Before you attach the Santa belt and top band to the cup, you will need to heat emboss your favorite snowflakes with white embossing powder randomly over the front of the cup. Make sure all are well embossed!
The Basic White cardstock for the Lid is 1-3/4" x 4-1/4", scored at 7/8" on the short side. I used the retired Envelope Score Board to round my corners,
but if you have a corner rounder punch that works well too.
Use liquid glue and place "the lid" on the folded cup top, let dry.
The Santa Belt is 1" x 4-1/4" wide Basic Black cardstock. Adhere with liquid glue. When dry trim the excess even with the cup side.
The Buckle is 1-1/4" square of Silver Glimmer Paper, with a 5/8" square of Basic Black cardstock glued on top. Using Dimensionals raise the buckle from the belt.
Finish up the Gift Card Holder by stamping whatever greetings you would like on the inside.
I love that this Gift Card Holder is also a Card that can stand all by itself!
I hope you think this Gift Card Holder and Card combo is as cute as I do. I plan to make a lot for craft shows next year if the pandemic has subsided by then.
Your friends and family would love to receive a coffee gift card in this holder!
Make some for yourself! Ho Ho Ho!
